New site!
Posted March 16th, 2009 by nikkiYep, we're moving to another site. This one's much cleaner, simpler, neater, as I have full control over how it works. Find it here.
Exams comin' up!
Posted February 9th, 2009 by nikkiI've got the board exams coming up (first one on March 4th), and so I'm supposed to be preparing for that (although I'm already pretty well prepared due to the intense revision and preparatory tests our school puts us through). Yeah, I do think this whole school and exam idea is a little too hyped (history?
dwm (no, not the Vista thing)
Posted February 3rd, 2009 by nikkiPast week, I've been using 'dwm' as my window manager. Its a small tiling window manager with some nifty little features. However, the best 'feature' is its code size: Less than 2000 LOC. That way, its code is really readable and well written, and you can easily understand how the whole thing works.
dwm is configured not by writing a text config file, but by hacking the code and rebuilding. :-)
Arch Linux Rocks?
Posted January 5th, 2009 by nikkiWell, around 25 days back (December 10th) the desktop (which runs Linux) monitor got busted and so I came over to the laptop (which runs Windows). I never got it fixed after that. Been working on Windows for a while, it ain't that bad. ;-) However, I did get quite bored with TortoiseSVN and the stupid command line etc. which are so good on Linux, so I decided to install a distro.
I tried Arch Linux.
New NGF (nikki's Game Framework) release!
Posted December 10th, 2008 by nikkiYes, its been a while, but here's some good news. A new version of NGF has been released, with a lot more documentation, a tutorial, a demo application, bugfixes and features. You can check it out here.
GraLL Source Code Released (BSD)!
Posted September 19th, 2008 by nikkiI've decided to release the GraLL source code (only the game source code, not the framework stuff or the media). However, build scripts or solution/project files aren't provided, so you can't build it. You can just look. ;-)
Get it here.
The code is very dirty, but remember, this was just my third complete C++ project.
Thanks for checking it out! Have fun! :-)
Vim Rocks!
Posted September 13th, 2008 by nikkiI just wanted to say that vim rocks! I've been using it as a text editor for quite a while, and it absolutely rocks. Especially ctags + OmniComplete. Not to mention the awesome editing features at my fingers: delete word, delete line, copy line, open line below, open line above, paste line, record macro (killer feature), edit recorded macro, uppercase line, lowercase line, substitute/search (another killer feature), dot = repeat (yet another killer feature), file explorer (serial killer features?)... Its just limitless.
Gordon And Gman Seen At Large Hadron Collider?
Posted September 12th, 2008 by nikkiWe can only hope Gordon doesn't get in the test chamber.
Prepare for unforeseen consequences!
Vacations about to end
Posted August 31st, 2008 by nikkiThis is it. The vacations. Are. Over.
Well not exactly, there are 2 days left (school starts tomorrow, but I'm getting back to Doha after that :-) ), but its still pretty bad.
There's quite a bit of holiday homework to do. As usual, the plan this time was to finish of the holiday homework as early as possible. Unfortunately, that was pretty late. Late enough, in fact, to spill over the end of the vacations. But I'm doing it, slowly, and its going to get done.
